Our Beltane 2007 Tour was a wonderful success! Our seven guests could not have been nicer or more pleasant. They were all very kind hearted and appreciative, very tuned in to the sacred energy of the special places we visited and the healing of the Earth that is so much a part of our special work in giving these tours.
The weather our first week was bright, sunny and warm every day, which made our visits to these incredible ancient sites even more enjoyable. We had plenty of time to commune with these ancient stones and places. Our accommodations were very nice – clean, charming, all en suite – and the breakfasts as much of whatever you like best. Picnic lunches prepared by our Lovely English Caterer were varied and quite tasty and included a delicious sweet every day. At the end of the tour she even provided a recipe book of all our favorite treats. When we were too far afield for our caterer to cater us, our B&B hostess, Kay, gave us enough food for an army. (She said she only made enough for eight Irish people, but it lasted the eight of us two days with leftovers!)
The Handfasting Ritual performed by our Priestess Christina for two of our guests was so beautiful. Everything about it was special – the place (Brian Boru’s Ring Fort) was carpeted with bluebells, ancient trees standing sentinel. One of our guests lovingly played the harp during the ritual. It was perfect in every way.
The second week the weather turned to rain, so we went shopping. We also had a very charming evening of singing, dancing, food and libations with our very dear friends, the Tierneys of Headford, and their neighbors. And a quick stop one day for a glass of wine at the Monaghans where we were presented with sweet little pictures of thatched houses painted for us by our hostess. (You won’t get that on any other tour!)
We strolled the grounds of Ashford Castle, where some of us had an exciting falconry lesson with two beautiful Harris hawks and one beautiful falconer. And on our last day the rain stopped for the entire time we were on our planned boat trip on Lough Derg. The sun was shining and the air was warm. As soon as the cruise was over, the rain came down again.
I don’t know if every tour can be as magical as this one was (but why not); however, we will always do everything possible to make it so.
We will be placing some of our most beautiful photos from this tour in our
Photo Gallery for your enjoyment.
Bright Blessings to All,
Elona Raven
